What does the LED mean in Smartlock operation?

The LED on the inside case of a Smartlock can be useful in diagnosis of troubles. The LED has various colors and combinations. The use of the LED by internal firmware is limited by battery life concerns, for instance an unlock is does NOT indicate any LED color.

On any start up of the firmware, the LED indicates WHITE for 1 second. Start up happens after batteries are changed (power-up), after an firmware update, after a reset via the push button or after a detected fault known as a panic. Any start up will produce a coded sequence of beeps that indicate the current firmware version.

Reset via the push button (short push) will indicate YELLOW for 1 second before the start up and WHITE indication happens. Firmware updater mode (5 second + button push) will indicate MAGENTA for 1 second prior to starting broadcast of the updater advertisement for 30 seconds.

A detected fault known as a panic will indicate RED with 2 beeps and then start up the firmware.

There are no other LED indications in current firmware circa 2022.
