Pausing or Suspending a User's Access
We’re often asked if you can suspend or pause a user’s access if needed for situations where they may not pay their monthly membership fee for example. While we don’t have a “pause” or “suspend” feature, there are two options that you can use to work around this.
OPTION 1: Regrant access with future start date and different end date
Login to VIZpin.net
Click Grant Access, then Grant Smartphone Access
Use the filter icon to show all users with smartkeys, then find the user you want to edit and check the box next to their name and click continue
On the next step select the same role (or you can use a different role as well)
On the last step, select a start date far out in the future (ex. 01/01/2037) and change the end date by at least one date.
Click the Grant VIZpin button.
This will keep the user’s smartkey associated with the user but not valid at present time. You can then come back in when you’re ready to update that user and regrant with current date
OPTION 2: Limit time to 15 minutes on 1 Day
Login to VIZpin.net
Create a new role that you name “temporary access” or “suspended access” or something similar that you will recognize when you need it. This role should have custom access for one device, and only include a fifteen minute window on one day. (typically managers choose a time when their facility is either staffed or unlikely time for someone to come)
Do not revoke access for your user, simply go into the Grant Access area and re-grant access to the temporary access role you created.
If you want to reinstate full access to the user, you can then go into the Grant Access area again re-grant access to their original role.
