Wiring to a Power Supply Box
Instructions for wiring a Door/Gate Controller to a common power supply unit (PSU) that has relay inputs and outputs, such as Altronix brand.
Note: Do not apply power or connect a battery to the PSU until all wires are connected
Wiring a Normally Open (N.O.) Electric Strike
Connect the controller’s wires as such:
Red to (+) 12VDC terminal
Black to (-) GND terminal
Blue to a trigger-input terminal (labeled “PUSH” in the images)
Yellow to the other trigger-input terminal (labeled “GND” in the images)
Connect the electric strike (+) wire to the Normally Open (NO) triggered-output terminal
Connect the electric strike (-) to the GND triggered-output terminal (sometimes labeled “COM”)
Connect 115VAC to the appropriate input on the PSU (shown in upper right of the image)
Optional: connect backup battery to appropriate connectors
Plug-in PSU to outlet or hardwired 115VAC
Wiring a Normally Closed (N.C.) Maglock
Connect the controller’s wires as such:
Red to (+) 12VDC terminal
Black to (-) GND terminal
Blue to a trigger-input terminal (labeled “PUSH” in the images but each PSU labels may vary)
Yellow to the other trigger-input terminal (labeled “GND” in the images)
Connect the electric strike (+) wire to the Normally Closed (NC) triggered-output terminal
Connect the electric strike (-) to the GND triggered-output terminal (sometimes labeled “COM”)
Connect 115VAC to the appropriate input on the PSU (shown in upper right of the image)
Optional: connect backup battery to appropriate connectors
Plug-in PSU to outlet or hardwired 115VAC
