Wiring for Normally Open Configuration

When the Door/Gate Controller will be controlling an external locking device, its recommended to use one power supply for the controller and a separate power supply for the electric lock, strike, or opener. This can be a separate individually fused output from a single power supply.

The Door/Gate Controller can very easily be connected to a device that requires a normally open relay .

The yellow wire on the controller is the relay common and the blue wire is the normally open, solid state relay contact wire. The blue wire will connected to the positive lead from the locks power supply and the yellow wire will be connected to the positive terminal of the lock itself. The negative side of the lock will be connected to the ground.

NOTE: Only the controller's RED, BLACK, BLUE and YELLOW wires will be used for this type of installation

  1. Cut the leads from the controller's unused wires and cover the ends with electrical tape or heat-shrink tubing

  2. Connect the controller's RED and BLUE wires to the power supply positive 12VDC (+)

  3. Connect the controller's YELLOW wire to the strike's positive (+)

  4. Connect the controller's BLACK wire (-) and the strike's negative (-) to the power supply GND (-)

  5. Turn on the power supply – the controller displays a pulsing red LED within a few seconds

*The controller must be mounted on the secure side of the door/gate

**Min. 22 AWG wiring where applicable
