Beginning with firmware version 1.18 VIZpin reader controllers can now be configured for a normally closed relay
This means that in most installations that require the normally closed function, like when using a mag-lock an external rely will not be required to properly control the locking device
To change the relay mode the VIZpin controller:
First login to your partner portal at VIZpin.net
Click the readers button and then edit for the appropriate reader- it must show 1.18 in the firmware column or the normally closed option will not be available
From the relay mode drop down menu- select the option for mag-lock normally closed and click apply
Use VIZpin link to apply these updated settings to the reader controller by refreshing your VIZpin SMART app and triggering the unit
It will reset and display a pulsing red LED
Trigger the VIZpin controller to confirm the relay mode has been updated for normally closed
