What is the Sync button used for in the VIZpin Smart app?

The Sync feature is optimized for any smart devices running firmware version 2.0 or higher.

Recent updates to the smart app have introduced a new feature that may help to get your VIZpin device up to date. The Sync button can now be found on the info page for a reader and must be used while remaining within bluetooth range of the device. This is the Sync button.

When you first tap on the Sync button, the phone will contact the reader and ask for any backlogged audits. If there are any, you will see the number alongside “Getting activity” count up and then back down to zero as each is moved from the device to your phone to the cloud. Once all backlogged audits are synchronized, the app will then look to see if there are any updates to apply. It will then send the update, pull the newly created audits and repeat until there are no more updates or audits in need of transmitting.

This process can take several minutes to complete (the GIF above is sped up considerably). Please stay within bluetooth range of the reader and keep the app open and in focus until you are met with the “Sync Status” screen with the Sync Complete status. It will give you a quick summary and look something like this:

Once this process is fully complete, your reader should be fully up to date with all updates.
